A Faux Suede Biker Jacket for Vegans

Tempest Jacket

Tempest Jacket

I’ve seen these kinds of jackets around–usually on extremely chic, model thin, stiletto wearing fashion industry people in New York. Do you know what I mean?

For example:

I think they call this an imitation suede biker jacket. I think it is an awesome look.

The first jacket ($64.99) is from spottedmoth.com, a really cool small online company started by a mom and a daughter that sells clothes as well as non leather shoes and bags. Every shoe on their site right now is non leather. I guess I will add it to my Vegan Shoe Shopping Guide at the top of the site! They sell a great pair of desert boots on this site, if you are in the market. I wrote about it previously on this blog.

What a great vegan bag. I love the feel of leather, even though I would never buy it. The amazing thing is fake leather can feel exactly the same. Fake leather can be buttery smooth or pebbly soft. I’ve felt it with my own two hands. The other day I went to American Eagle to check out their vegan bags I previously posted on, and I could tell no difference between the fake leather bags and the real ones. I think that is why so many vegans give up in despair thinking that there are no non leather items to be found. The fact is they are right in front of your eyes. Only you assume they are leather because you think fake leather can’t be THAT good. Well it is. I think that is truly amazing.
