My 1 Week Long Fruitarian Self Experiment: Does Fruit Make You More Beautiful?

(you should check out fruitarian loni jane’s blog, if you haven’t already aleven11.tumblr.com)

Ok here is my plan.

I have been telling people for a while now on this blog that the more fruit you eat, the better you look in my experience, and what I’ve noticed the most is the better your face and skin looks.

It’s hard to explain. It is subtle. But you look literally prettier. It is kind of disturbing.

But I am going to try to put my money where my mouth is and prove this to you.

Since I have not been eating that much fruit at all lately, though still sticking to high carb, low fat vegan…

I am going to make a goal for the next week of eating

1500 calories a day from fruit.

Then I will take a screenshot of my fruit intake which I’ll track on cronometer and post it on Facebook, along with a picture of my face.

I will do this starting tomorrow, Saturday till next Saturday, the day of my birthday party!!!

I will see if I look super good on that day.

Anyone want to take the challenge with me? That would be awesome!! You could modify it to only like 1,000 calories of fruit and I bet still notice a big difference.

If you choose to partake, I recommend downloading the cronometer app on your phone and making 2 batches of 5 banana banana mylk a day for a total of 1,000 calories, and getting another 500 cals of oranges or some other fruit. This is gonna be tough, but sooo great! And I know my face is going to look better. It’s so weird, but I have noticed this works. But. I must test this though. Maybe it’s all in my head.

And I will let you know if I notice any differences.

My hypothesis is that I will. Oh the good old scientific method!!!

I promise to be honest and uphold the highest standards of rationality and science.

And, hold me to this experiment, people! My mind is made up.

Greetings, Vegan Beauty Recommendation and a Sale Alert

Greetings to everyone

I wanted to alert you to a few things.

1. Good Guys is having a deal of sorts. With the code SUMMERLOVE you can get free shipping which actually translates to about $50 off if you live in the US. Not bad! I got a pair of their light pink oxfords and I can’t wait. Will definitely post pics when I get them.

2. Somewhere on Facebook I came across the quote by William James “Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does”.

Does it? I think it does as well.

One thing I’m interested in lately is which makeup companies test on animals. I recently saw a discussion on Facebook about it. From what I gathered, it is often hard to tell. Companies won’t tell you whether they do or not, however if their products are made in China, they are REQUIRED to test on animals. Animal testing for cosmetics–what is the point. It goes without saying that it is disturbing and cruel.

I have come across a great company recently though that is loudly and proudly 100% Vegan and cruelty free.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetic Lip Tars.

They are like lipsticks but come in a little tube with a brush. You just use the tiniest dot from the tube, put it on your lips with the brush and it dries on your lips, so it doesn’t smudge and you can kiss someone or eat or drink and not worry about it. They’re amazing! I want all the colors.

They also come in a lot of crazy colors and I hear their black lipstick is especially good.

Beauty bloggers and vloggers love these things–I think it’s growing in popularity which is great. They also sell vegan makeup brushes, eye shadows, and foundations.

Just thought I’d let you know. I got two colors Femme (a light barbie pink) and Vintage (a great deep red).
