A New and Updated Vegan Shoe Shopping Guide

Just in case anyone who reads this blog has not seen my article at the top of my website, I am reprinting it on my blog in case it can help someone who stumbles onto my blog. I’ve learned SO much about where to find vegan shoes online since starting my blog. I hope you find this helpful, and please feel free to email or forward this to anyone you know who is vegan or vegetarian and is having trouble finding shoes. It can be really tricky. For some weird reason, these sites will not come up just by googling vegan shoes. I had to search! With great pride, I present you my vegan shoe shopping guide. Please comment below if you have any additional info!

…………………

There are many articles and blog posts on the web written about where to find vegan shoes. Sadly, most of them are extremely outdated and incomplete, and give people the idea that there are no stylish vegan shoes to be found on the web. But there are.

Here are the best sources I have found on the web for finding vegan shoes:

Forever21.com is a fabulous resource for vegan shoes. They have really cool trendy styles, but some nice traditional classic looking basics as well.

Wantedshoes.com is also a great place to look. Most of their shoes seem to be vegan. They have a really big selection, and a lot of cool, classic styles.

Lulu’s.com has a very large vegan section on their site, but their shoes are usually highly trendy and may not be what you’re looking for.

Mooshoes.com is the main vegan shoe site in the US in my opinion. The site aggregates most of the vegan shoe lines out there, but they don’t always have the greatest selection, and I must say, the site is not pleasant to navigate.

Amazon.com is an actually an amazing resource for getting true vegan shoes made by all vegan companies at discount prices. You can either search for “vegan shoes” on the site, or alternately, search for the 3 top brand names of vegan shoe lines. By doing this, you can get these designer vegan shoes for much cheaper prices than you would find them for at mooshoes.com. Here are the links:

Cri de Coeur on amazon

OlsenHaus on amazon

Beyond Skin on amazon

Toms.com has a small vegan shoe section. Toms are great every day sneaker type shoes, but look cool too. They have even caught the eye of  The Sartorialist a couple of times now!

Urbanoutfitters, American Eagle, Old Navy.com, Delias.com, alloy.com, and Modcloth.com all frequently feature shoes of  entirely man made materials alongside shoes made with leather. I’ve found most inexpensive online retailers always have vegan shoes, since cheap shoes are usually vegan. Look for shoes under 60 dollars.

Spottedmoth.com is a small online store that I’ve found usually only carries non leather shoes and bags.

A good rule of thumb is: The cheaper the shoe (or bag), the more likely it is to be vegan.

I will keep adding to this list as I find more great places to find vegan shoes on the web. Please let me know if you have any favorite sites to find shoes and I’ll add them to my list.

Remember, as frustrating as it can seem to find shoes, vegan shoes are everywhere, but they are hidden amid masses of leather shoes. One day in the future I truly believe this will change, and vegan shoes will be the norm. Until then!!

Oh and for men a good source of dress shoes can be found on amazon from the original vegan shoe company No Harm.

A good source of wallets, dress shoes, and belts can be found at thevegancollection.com, as well as the old standby, mooshoes.com.

Please feel free to leave a comment anywhere on my blog, or contact me with your thoughts about vegan shoes!

Sincerely,

Victoria

Swedish Kirsten Larsen Style Faux Fur Mittens

Anyone who knows me well probably has picked up on the fact that I have a small obsession with Sweden. Nowadays Sweden is kind of a trendy place it seems, but my obsession with Sweden started long ago.

Check out my favorite Swedish person on the web, Fillipa Berg.

Like so many of my loves I’ve been recently realizing, my love of Sweden began with my first American Girl doll, Kirsten, a Swedish girl of strength and spirit.

Well, to get to the point, these faux fur mittens remind me of her. I really really want them. They are even trimmed with Swedish ribbon.

“ultra-soft, fully lined, faux fur mittens”.

Hope you like them! Now that I think of it, these mittens remind me of something else as well. The children’s book The Mitten. Have you read it?

Did you have an American Girl doll? I had Kirsten and Addy. What do you think of these mittens?
