(my before and after pic)
I received this question today and thought I would share:
Hello! I have been rawtil4 for a month now. Each week I learn something new. The first week I was eating a lot of fat in coconut oil and avocados, so the next week I changed that. The second week I ate a lot of processed foods like pastas and sauces, so I cut that out. Then the third week I had a lot of tamari sauce, which has tons of sodium, so then I changed that. Now I am in my fourth week, having learned a lot of what not to do, but I still have no idea why I haven’t lost weight. I was wondering if you have any tips for me? I drink 2-3 L of water a day, and this week I am incorporating more veggies, but I was wondering how you achieved success. Thank you oh so much! Carlina :)
Hi Carlina, thank you for writing to me. You are awesome to learn those lessons so quickly. It took me months to years to learn what you learned each week. My first thought for you is…it is going to take some time. You are doing everything perfectly, but it will still take months. The trade off of this lifestyle is that unlike normal diets where you restrict your calories and lose weight quickly….only to gain it back in the future….on this lifestyle you will probably lose weight very slowly but never gain it back, never diet again, and never have to worry about weight gain again. It really takes TIME. There were times when I thought, I’m ONLY eating fruits and vegetables even…..why aren’t I losing weight!?!? It still takes TIME. Even on 100% raw. You need to give it at least a year. I’m not even kidding. Keep doing what you are doing and you will definitely lose weight. I thought I would NEVER lose weight, now I look at my body and i’m like WOW thank god I trusted Freelee the Banana Girl. It took me about 1 year to go down 1 pants size, and another six months to go down two more….but now I eat as much as i want and never think about dieting. It’s worth it.
There’s only one more thing…if you are following Freelee’s guidelines to a T and trying to eat over 2,500-3000 calories a day no matter how hungry you feel, you may run into some problems. I didn’t when I was following that advice, but eventually I just chilled out and ate when I was hungry and stopped counting calories to get enough in. I would recommend checking out the videos of High Carb Hannah on youtube….she gained a lot of weight on raw till 4, but now still eats fruits and starches Raw till 4 style but with a more intuitive eating approach and lost all that weight plus more.
Anyway, congratulations for finding the ANSWER to weight loss– I really believe that. It takes a special person to sort through all the BS out there and give veganism and raw food a go. High Carb Hannah is now leaning more towards The Starch Solution but I still think Raw till 4 is amazing and the more fruit you eat the more beautiful you will look and the more your skin will glow, at least that’s what I’ve found. Please let me know if you have any other questions or I can help in any other way.
